Apex Legends players were encountering frequent error messages, and this led to Respawn Entertainment removing the Olympus map from the rotation in the January 19 playlist update.

The Apex Legends community has encountered numerous errors that have interfered with their enjoyment of the game, including the “UI Images ran out of room” error message that was causing crashes.

Now, it appears that the root of this problem has been the Olympus map, and Respawn Entertainment dropped a playlist update on January 19 in order to address this frustrating issue.

After reassuring players that the Apex Legends team is currently investigating the “UI Images ran out of room” error message, Respawn Entertainment confirmed that they’re removing Olympus from the map rotation.

The devs tweeted: “We’ve gone ahead and pushed out a playlist update that removes Olympus from rotation and replaces it with World’s Edge. This will allow us to continue to work on the issue without impacting gameplay.”

In this tweet, the developers didn’t provide any information on when exactly Olympus will make its return to the map rotation. It’s expected to return as soon as the “UI Images ran out of room” error message issue is resolved.

It’s unclear exactly how the Olympus map was causing this error message to pop up for players, but the name of the error implies that the map’s assets were unable to be properly loaded by players’ systems.

This will come as a disappointment to Olympus fans that were looking to hop into the map for a few matches. We’ll keep checking for any further updates regarding this and will let you know when the map makes its return.
