Following the announcement that Apex Legends Mobile would be discontinued, the community was furious to learn that EA will not be providing refunds for in-game purchases.

Apex Legends Mobile brought the fun of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale title to handheld devices, and this version of the game featured content like exclusive characters and a solos playlist.

While it initially seemed that this title would be the flagship mobile game for EA and Respawn Entertainment, it’s been confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile is being shut down. They also revealed details about the cancelation.

After this announcement, the developers confirmed that despite the game’s cancelation, Apex Legends Mobile players will not be given refunds for any in-game purchases that they have made.

The fact that players will not receive refunds has not sat well with the community, and many users expressed their disappointment with the developers for this decision in the Apex Legends subreddit.

In a thread about this announcement, one Reddit user commented: “Them not offering refunds on their failed product really highlights their greed and lack of love for us the players.” Another player stated: “I feel for anyone that dumped money into [Apex Legends Mobile].”

Some players pointed out that Epic Games is allowing anyone who played Rumbleverse to get full refunds as the game is shutting down, showing a contrast. There was the sentiment in the thread that “closing within a year should be a partial refund by law.”

The community is demanding that the developers grant refunds to players, with one user commenting: “I don’t care about the game shutting down or anything, but they should at least do something for the people who actually dropped money into [Apex Legends] Mobile.”

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen EA and Respawn Entertainment are planning to address these complaints. We’ll keep checking for more developments regarding this and will be sure to update you as soon as anything changes.
