Respawn Entertainment officially releases the Legacy, Season 9 launch trailer showing off the upcoming Arena mode and new Legend Valkyrie for Apex Legends.

The latest video from Apex Legends developers is full of upcoming content in Season 9: Legacy. Although this launch trailer does not feature gameplay, the animated three-minute video does show some off some content we will see in Legacy.

Since the trailer’s release, those among the community have been breaking it down and identifying the Arena mode maps, Ash, and new Legend Valkyrie.

During the past month, Apex Legends have been teasing the upcoming 3v3 Arena mode in various ways, one of which took place in the Firing Range. Finally, players have been given a glimpse into the maps we will see in this mode and a more detailed look at possible future Legend, Ash.

At the very start of the trailer, the Arena logo is shown, with Ash saying it’s “time for a new game.” Developer Ryan Rigney provided some insight into this new mode just days before this new trailer, basically hinting that the new mode will be much more than an LTM, “supporting it as a full game,” and could even have its own ranked playlist.

After the trailer was released, the community analyzed parts and found out even more information on the Arena mode.

Twitter user @Spearheadpr_ pointed out an interesting frame from the trailer, which shows Ash selecting maps by Seasons. This could mean we will potentially be seeing some previous Season POI’s that have been out of the game or changed turned into Arena maps.

Further, @Shrugtal also weighed in on the trailer, presenting one of the maps shown in the trailer that could be an Arena-specific location potentially called “Exoplanet.”

The image shows a small map with similar terrain to that of World’s Edge, and perhaps this is the map teased in Apex Legends glitchy Instagram video with the Phase Runner.

This wasn’t the only Arena map teased, as the trailer also showed off the map seen in the 100 million players video, which many believed to be a map change for Olympus. It seems the location shown in the video was, in fact, a smaller Arena mode map with Mirage Voyage in the center.

This trailer pretty much confirmed that the Arena mode would feature exclusive, smaller maps, some of which we are familiar, and some of which are completely new. It also confirmed that the Arena would be 3v3, as Ash is shown looking at a screen with two squads of three.

In more detail throughout the trailer, Ash was also shown, but most specifically at the end, where she pulled back her hood.

This is also the first time we have seen so much of Ash, allowing players to see how different she looks from the Titanfall version, generating excitement for her potential future as a Legend in the Apex Games.

The trailer also teased some aspects of Valkyrie’s abilities, skins, and maybe even a finisher of hers, much like the one teased in the Instagram camera videos.

Firstly, Valkyrie is first shown flying through the air in her supposed launch bundle skin, which features her father’s helmet.

Valkyrie is then shown finishing off Gibraltar, kicking him in the face and then flying off, leaving Gibraltar in the VTOL Jet smoke, which is again similar to one of the Videos posted on the Apex Legends Instagram page that @Biast12 believes is one of her finishers called “the Afterburner.”

Valkyrie is also shown shooting missiles, which could be her ultimate or tactical ability, previously leaked as “Cluster Missiles.” At the very end, Valkyrie is then shown shooting at Fuse with the new weapon for Legacy, the Bocek Bow.

The gameplay reveal for the Arena is set for April 26th. For more on Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy, check out our article on Valkyrie’s leaked abilities and stay tuned on Charlie INTEL.
