A cool 3v3 Team Deathmatch mode has been found buried in the Apex Legends game files. The leak suggests that the limited-time mode will welcome back the Kings Canyon map.

Apex Legends is well into its seventh season and Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale shows no signs of stopping. The game is benefitting from all the new gameplay supplied by the Fight Night Collection event, and now even more content could be imminent.

Kings Canyon is one of the few pieces of content that was sacrificed for the introduction of Season 7, but it could be making a swift return according to the potential leak.

Kings Canyon 3v3 Team Deathmatch leak

There have been previous suggestions that a Team Deathmatch-style mode was coming to Apex Legends, but it never materialized.

However, thanks to regular Apex Legends leaker Shrugtal, the long-wait for this historic Team Deathmatch mode might finally be at an end. Here’s what he Tweeted about regarding the rumored mode:

  • Arena triggers found in latest King’s Canyon map file
  • 3v3 TDM-style mode, teams spawn on A and B in gibby bubble, 4 diff loadouts
  • One airdrop in center, one medical supply bin spawn at the side
  • 3 Ring stages
  • Many different “arenas” in different King’s Canyon areas

The tweet also contains some drawings that indicate how the setup for the mode will be.

It may not just be Kings Canyon the game mode is coming to, Shrugtal goes on to say that other Arenas are also in the running too. Although he is quick to say: “Of course remember locations or loadouts or w/e aren’t final, it may just be set up like this for internal playtesting.”

At this moment in time, this can all be taken with a grain of salt until we hear something official from the devs.

Given how significant an addition this could be for Apex Legends, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the mode’s inclusion is postponed until Season 8 goes live.

Apex Legends Season 7’s Battle Pass expires on February 1, so Season 8 can be expected to start soon after.
