Apex Legends is already in Season 12, with many dedicated players even remembering when the game was released in 2019. The most sought-after items throughout the game’s lifespan are definitely the illustrious Heirlooms, which are still rare to this day.

With the Season 12 Heirloom yet to be released during the Warriors Collection Event, some players may be interested in finding out how close they are to unlocking one with Heirloom Shards.

How to get Heirlooms in Apex Legends

Heirlooms are sought after items in Apex Legends that can only be acquired in two ways:

1. Through Collection Events, players can unlock a new heirloom by purchasing the event set.
2. By spending 150 Heirloom Shards to purchase an Heirloom from the in-game store

Collection Events grant players the ability to unlock a new, never-seen-before Heirloom that will only be available for a limited time. Once all the items in the event have been collected, which can be very pricey.

The other way is by spending Heirloom Shards in the in-game shop, which will let you purchase the Heirloom of your choice.

How to get Heirloom Shards in Apex Legends

Unfortunately, there is only one way to get your hands on Heirloom Shards, and that is by opening Apex Packs.

You only have a 1 in 500 chance of getting Heirloom Shards in a pack, and it may take you all 500 Apex Packs to actually get them. The pack will include 150 Heirloom Shards inside it, so you’ll immediately be able to purchase the Heirloom of your choice.

By calculating your level reached in each season’s battle pass, daily treasure packs collected, and event packs received, the Apex Packs Calculator website can roughly estimate how many packs you have opened. Therefore, how many you are off before receiving your Heirloom Shards in the 500th.
