Apex Legends Hardcore Royale LTM explained
Apex Legends has received a Call of Duty-style Hardcore mode along with the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event in Season 15.
Season 15 of Apex Legends is nearing its final weeks, but before players welcome Season 16, it seems Respawn Entertainment have a few surprises in store.
The Spellbound Collection Event already marked the return of Control and the controversial addition of Private Matches, and now the devs have released yet another Collection Event.
The Celestial Sunrise Event arrived right after Spellbound’s end, and not only does it bring new cosmetics, but it also introduces the brand-new Hardcore LTM.
The Apex Legends Hardcore mode strips the battle royale experience down to basics, with altered rules that will surely make it more difficult to survive.
Apex Legends Hardcore Royale LTM details
The Apex Legends Hardcore Royale LTM follows similar rules as Call of Duty’s classic mode of the same name and it will be available from January 24, 2023, until the Collection Event’s end on February 7, 2023.
For starters, Apex Legends players will have to deal with limited HUD. Giving players less information and on-screen help will force players to rely on their gun skill in a less forgiving environment.
Next, players will have to deal with reduced overall health and survivability. This translates to all Legends having Level 1 armor, no helmets, and Armor Swapping being disabled. These three adjustments should result in players dying faster than usual.
Further, to make it harder to stay outside of the zone, the Ring will dish out maximum damage from the start of the game. This will be unique to Apex Legends’ Hardcore mode as an added rule to suit the battle royale style of play.
Luckily, you’ll still be able to check your weapon HUD by inspecting the weapon. There will also be a workaround to check how many Squads are remaining with Scanning Survey Beacons. It’s likely the devs included these features to make a Hardcore experience fit the battle royale genre.
Finally, the mode will require a minimum account level of 20, meaning anyone below this rank will need to earn some XP to enjoy the mode. If you’re looking to enjoy this mode but are below this level, make sure you get your weekly challenges done to maximize XP.
