Respawn Entertainment have teased some major changes to Ranked play that they have planned for Apex Legends Season 13.

While playing public matches of Apex Legends is fun on its own, players that are looking to truly test their skills can try out Ranked play, where they will be placed against foes of a similar skill level.

However, this mode has received its fair share of criticism from the Apex Legends community, with many players calling for the developers to introduce some changes. Now, some changes have been teased for Season 13.

On March 18, Respawn producer Josh Medina responded to a tweet highlighting the Ranked distribution in Halo, League of Legends, and Apex Legends. In his reply, he indirectly confirmed some Ranked changes for Season 13.

After one user referenced the SaveApexRanked hashtag in the comments, the Respawn producer replied: “We better get a hashtag come season 13 that says #ThanksRespawnForSavingApexRanked.”

While he didn’t go into the specifics of what exactly these changes will be, his statement that the update is going to save Apex Legends Ranked play implies that they will probably be significant.

This will surely thrill many players in the Apex Legends community that have been calling for Respawn Entertainment to bring some major changes to the game’s Ranked mode, including better matchmaking.

At the time of writing, there isn’t more information available about these changes, but we expect Respawn to make an official announcement ahead of the Season 13 launch. We’ll be sure to update you when this happens.
