Apex Legends Season 11 will add Ash and the CAR SMG from Titanfall, and the devs have revealed that they don’t plan on ending the crossovers there.

Although a completely separate game, Apex Legends takes place in the Titanfall universe. Taking place over 30 years after Titanfall 2, Apex includes several of the weapons, and even characters, from the popular FPS franchise.

Season 11 brings both Titanfall 2 villain Ash as a playable Legend and the CAR SMG to the game.

But in an interview with Metro, Respawn Entertainment revealed that they’re not done with bringing across Titanfall content yet.

Speaking to Metro, Ashley Reed, Respawn’s Lead Writer, said that they wanted to make sure Apex had its own identity. She explained that they thought, “No, no, this is something else. This is part of Titanfall but it isn’t just a cheap spin-off of Titanfall, it’s its own thing.”

Although alluding to its Titanfall links previously, the devs eventually felt that “now we can start going back to, and really pulling more from Titanfall without being self-conscious about it.”

The devs had plans to add Ash to the game but felt they should build up her arrival. They did this by making her the Apex Arenas commissioner and teasing her through “comics and other mixes with the other characters.”

“So I think you’ll continue to see parts big and small of Titanfall coming to Apex but I don’t think it will be as big as this season, obviously,” explained Devin Weise, who worked on designing Ash. “It’s not like every season it’s going to have some new Titanfall thing.”

He concluded that “We still want Apex to be its own thing, but the passion of the team continues to be, ‘Hey, a lot of us have worked on Titanfall. We love Titanfall. Let’s bring these in when it feels ready.'”

So, don’t expect a ton of Titanfall content every season, but it sounds like the devs will continue to sprinkle in Titanfall content when it feels natural and relevant to the game’s plot.
