Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 is set to bring players plenty of new weapons that could shake up the meta in both games, so here’s a look at every new gun confirmed to be on the way.

Call of Duty fans will soon receive all of the content coming in the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 update. Battle royale players have a new Gulag to look forward to, while multiplayer fans are getting Gunfight along with a selection of interesting new maps.

Like the ISO Hemlock and KV Broadside before them, Season 3 is also set to bring a host of new weapons into the mix, altering the meta in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Here’s a breakdown of all the new weapons arriving during Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Season 3 new weapons

In total, there are four new weapons slated to arrive during Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3, from a range of different weapon classes.

Two of these will debut when Season 3 goes live on April 12, while the other two are set to drop later down the line in the Reloaded update.

These brand-new guns will also introduce a number of camos and attachments, which can then be applied to the rest of your arsenal.

FJX Imperium Sniper Rifle (Intervention)

Intervention in Warzone 2
The FJX Imperium is the beloved Intervention from 2009.

The marquee addition in Season 3 is the iconic Intervention Sniper Rifle from the original Modern Warfare 2. Now called the FJX Imperium, the devs described the classic rifle as an “anti-personnel, bolt-action sniper” that “intervenes in tense situations with hard-hitting .408 rounds.”

Don’t be surprised to see long-time players quickscoping their way across both games, making use of the Sniper Rifle balancing changes also set to be introduced in the update.

Players will be able to unlock the Intervention for free by reaching Sector C4 of the Season 3 Battle Pass.

Cronen Squall Battle Rifle

Season 3 also brings a new addition to the Battle Rifle category.

The other new weapon available on launch day is the Cronen Squall Battle Rifle, a “bullpup, semi-automatic rifle chambered in 6.8 Wrath and designed for distance shooting and exceptional damage output.”

Battle Rifles aren’t the most popular category in Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 right now, but the devs are clearly hoping that a fresh face will change that.

Just like the Intervention, the Cronen Squall can be unlocked on day one through the Season 3 Battle Pass, even for those who haven’t purchased it. The new weapon will be found in Sector C11.

Two new Pistols in Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 roadmapThe Season 3 roadmap teases one of the new Pistols coming to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

While the first two guns will be released alongside Season 3, Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded will deliver two brand-new sidearms for players to use as their secondary weapons.

The blank outline shown on the Season 3 roadmap for one of the Pistols looks very similar to the TEC-9 from Black Ops Cold War. While this was originally an SMG, it could have easily been reworked into a machine Pistol for MW2 and Warzone 2, but this is unconfirmed at the time of writing.

As for the second Pistol, it seems the Call of Duty Japan Twitter page accidentally revealed that it’ll be a fully automatic version of the .50 GS Desert Eagle. The .50 GS Sidearm is Modern Warfare 2’s version of the Desert Eagle. The same leak has the codename for the rumored TEC-9 Pistol as the Tango 0.

Both new Pistols will be fully-automatic and serve different purposes. One is described as “a highly customizable machine pistol with a fast rate of fire,” and the other is a “high-caliber pistol modified for full-auto to blast enemies back when they get too close for comfort.”

It remains to be seen how these two Pistols will be unlocked when they arrive in the mid-season update, but they could require players to complete a series of challenges similar to the Crossbow in Season 2.

We’ll be sure to update this page closer to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded with more details.
