According to a well-known FIFA leaker, Serie A giants AC Milan won’t appear in EA Sports FC after agreeing an exclusive deal with Konami to appear in eFootball.

The FIFA series has always taken pride in its extensive roster of licensed leagues and teams, adding an extra layer of authenticity to EA’s football sim. When the publisher announced that it would be ending its relationship with FIFA and rebranding as EA SPORTS FC, many fans were wondering how it would affect the game going forward.

EA were quick to reassure players, saying at the time: “Our unique licensing portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve continued to invest in for decades will still be there, uniquely in EA SPORTS FC.”

However, according to respected FIFA leaker Donk Trading, AC Milan is one team that won’t be making its way to EA SPORTS FC in 2023.

The insider claimed in October 31 tweet that the Serie A champions “will be an exclusive partner club to PES/eFootball from the 2023 season” onwards, after signing a deal with Konami.

As is the case with many other teams that move over to eFootball, they also said that AC Milan will be replaced by a generic team in EA SPORTS FC. This means that their players will still be useable in Career Mode and Ultimate Team, but they will play for a team with a different name and wear custom-made kits.

The leaker didn’t mention whether or not the San Siro’s place in next year’s game will be affected by the deal, but since AC Milan share the stadium with rivals Inter Milan, the iconic ground should appear as long as Inter are fully licensed in the game.

While many fans, especially Italian supporters, will be disappointed to see such an iconic club leave the game next season, it doesn’t mean that we see AC Milan back in the series one day. Fellow Serie A giants Juventus returned in FIFA 23 after being exclusive to PES and eFootball for three years.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this is still just a leak for now, as EA, Konami, or AC Milan are yet to confirm the news.
