Here are some classic Modern Warfare 2 weapons we’d like to see return in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Warzone 2.
Modern Warfare 2 (2022) has an inherently classic feel to it thanks to the original 2009 release which became one of the most iconic and loved Call of Duty games in the franchise’s history.
Infinity Ward reignited players’ passion for the original thanks to the inclusion of some classic weapons and maps from the 2009 release, providing a shot of nostalgia for veteran players.
There are already some classic MW2 weapons in the game, but they have different names compared to the original. For example, the TAQ-56 is very similar to the SCAR-H, and the M4 is basically the same as the M4A1.
That said, there are still some maps and weapons that players would like to see return from the original MW2. So, here are some classic MW2 weapons we’d like to see return in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
The TAR-21 is a classic Assault Rifle from Modern Warfare 2, and while MW19 brought a similar version of the weapon in the RAM-7, we are yet to see a similar hard-hitting version just like the original.
The Mini-Uzi is a staple of the Modern Warfare series, which saw a return in MW19. However, the SMG didn’t return for Modern Warfare 2, and we’re definitely missing it.
The Mini-Uzi would bring a satisfying close-range weapon to the game, with great damage and fire rate to match.
The F2000 from Modern Warfare 2 was a fully automatic bullpup Assault Rifle with a high fire rate. While its damage was its biggest weakness, its fire rate more than compensated, especially at close and medium ranges.
Modern Warfare 2 already has one classic burst weapon in the M16, but we’re not opposed to another being thrown into the mix. The original Modern Warfare 2 FAMAS was a three-round burst with high damage, giving it the potential to one-burst an enemy.
The UMP45 is one of those weapons that players associate with the original Modern Warfare 2, mostly because it was one of the best and most popular weapon choices in the entire game.
Therefore, we would love to see this high-damage SMG come back and dominate just like it used to, with that gunfire sound that was made even more iconic with a silencer.
Arguably one of the most loved weapons from the original Modern Warfare 2 was the ACR, an extremely accurate Assault Rifle that was known for its consistency and easy-to-control recoil.
There’s no doubt that the ACR would be welcomed by the community, as it would offer an alternative to the TAQ-56, which is currently regarded as the game’s easiest weapon to use thanks to its little recoil and consistent damage.
