Warzone’s competitive scene will be bigger than ever this year with the recent announcement of the 2021 World Series of Warzone, which will feature four different $300,000 tournaments for competitors to compete in.

The competitive scene of Call of Duty: Warzone has grown a great deal following the battle royale game’s official release in 2020, but Activision is looking to take it to a whole new level with its most recent announcement of the 2021 World Series of Warzone.

This semi-invitational series of events will see stars, streamers, and community members compete in four different events with a $300,000 prize pool each for competitors to compete for during the year.

These four $300,000 tournaments will consist of a Duos and Trios event for North America and Europe. The NA Trios event for the 2021 World Series of Warzone will be the first tournament to take place and will be kicking off its action on June 22, 2021, with a live snake draft conducted by five selected captains for the Captain’s Cup. The NA Trios event will then take place on June 23, 2021.

This first event for the 2021 World Series of Warzone will see 50 Trios squads from NA compete in a custom lobby over six matches. Points will be accumulated based upon the number of kills each team gets and their placements in each match. These points will determine the split of $200,000.

The remaining $100,000 will be up for grabs in the Captain’s Cup that will be led by some of the biggest names in Call of Duty esports. Five selected captains will conduct a live snake draft to assemble 10 trios. These five captain’s teams will compete to score the most points combined for the lion’s share of the remaining $100,000.

According to the official website for the tournaments, the draft pool for the NA Trios event will consist of “players invited by Activision to participate, representatives from Call of Duty League teams, and winners from official program qualifiers, including the squad that wins the World Series of Warzone Open Qualifier on the GameBattles platform.”

According to Activision, details for the other three 2021 World Series of Warzone tournaments will be announced later.
