Wait, those caught boosting can have their online split-screen privileges revoked? That is huge! People, lets find these boosters and report their sorry asses!

    • Joshua Jackson

      im with you

  • XxDeathbat003xX

Seriously? No modded controllers? That’s just retarded, people spend a LOT of money for things like that, then you just say they can’t use them? Butthurt CoD fanboys need to get over the fact that people use them.

    • Medibee

      Hahaha.

      • Durp

I honestly don’t see how the game could possibly detect modded controllers unless I’m missing something. I *know* a lot of people purchased modded controllers for MW3 and reporting it was almost fruitless. Players can deny the use of controllers and the only way I could possibly see the game itself detecting modded controllers is if there’s a button-push threshold that flags the player.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate modded controllers. I’m just curious how it will go about when reported, or how it could be reported/detected.

        A lot of unanswered questions 3arc. :/

        • http://twitter.com/CanvasSpots Canvas Spots

Most important aspect of what you just said: MW3 is made by InfinityWard which didn’t give a f### after launch (see any of the games), but BO2 is made by Treyarch who actually cares about their community after launch.

As far as flagging, I suspect an extremely high fire-rate on single-fire weapons will probably be a flag for each game it’s used in, plus each person that reports also probably adds a flag. More flags = more likely action is taken. It’s hard to say though.

    • http://twitter.com/JPJ_51301 Josiah Johnson

People spend money on them because they are try-hards and suck at the game without having an advantage!

    • aaa187

      Butthurt COD fanboy?

Looks like you just described yourself right there, child.

    • xLeon

Well that’s just too FUCKING BAD

    • Bobo

“people spend a LOT of money for things like that”……….well does it make it fair since they spent the money on it? NO, just cause i just spent my rent money on a kilo of coke doesnt mean its ok or fair. “Butthurt CoD fanboys”, nah…more like “vagreamed Halo bitches”……..yawn yawn.

    • Countbabeula

I deffinetly agree with Josiah Johnson, If you want to play the game, then play it fair like everyone else. Don’t be a cheater just because you have more money. It’s about skill, and friendly competition not money.

  • DxJS

I’m glad they’re penalizing people for offensive/sexual emblems. It’s not that I personally have a problem with them. I actually find them funny on the rare occasion that they’re original and well done, but I’d rather not have a giant gorilla penis popping up on screen when a young relative walks into the room.

    • Durp

Pretty much this. See an offensive emblem? Report it. Can’t tell you how many Swastikas and Porn-based emblems I reported.

      • Me>Hackers

Haha yeah i remeber on Black Ops there’d be probably 2-5 players with some type of offensive emblem in each lobby, i used to start reporting them, especially swasitka emblems

      • Igtw

There’s nothing wrong with a swastika. They’ve been around much longer than the Nazis were.

  • http://twitter.com/JPJ_51301 Josiah Johnson

I think that I will just troll around lobbies to find people to report this year…

  • Yanana

About the Unsupported Peripheral Devices & Applications, does the game recognize fraps as one? Or should I just keep it safe and not record matches :P

    • http://twitter.com/CanvasSpots Canvas Spots

Send that to Call of Duty and ask. They’d probably prefer to answer than prefer to ban ;)

  • Ds

Hey, I just bought an eagle eye, that’s a converter that lets me play with keyboard and mouse on ps3. Does that count as a modded controller or?

  • Stevetaylor1981

Does that include scuf controllers as modded cause mlg and nearly all youtubers use them

    • Boris Guyon-Pelfrene

By modded they usually mean rapid-fire controllers, twitch controllers etc. The controllers you’re talking about just let you jump/crouch etc. easier. You should be fine.

  • Ed

i wonder if the in game report function will be enough, unlike the previous COD title. or will we have to make video and send it to a twitter or email. that little step kept me from reporting quite a few people. not one of the videos i sent in resulted in those people getting any sort of ban or stat reset, and that’s just as frustrating as dealing with the boosters and glitchers in itself.

  • Galactichunter

JAMIExELITE… You can suck everyone’s dick now!
OH DAMN, so that means if I troll I will get temp banned? WHY!?

  • http://twitter.com/TweetSpence Spencer

I hope for the banning of Emblem Editor and all Emblems wiped, they have a special emblem for them which is permanent which kinda mocks them. Now that would be funny.

    • http://twitter.com/CanvasSpots Canvas Spots

I actually asked David Vonderhaar on twitter if they were going to do that. I hope so too as a warning the first time and then a forever lolz later.

  • Sir

I’m more worried about being WRONGFULLY reset/banned than actually being legitimately reported.

    • http://twitter.com/CanvasSpots Canvas Spots

They have teams that check out these things after several reports. For instance, with the emblem editors it usually takes a bunch of people reporting them before it puts you on a list to be checked out. More reports = higher up on the list (not that it takes them long to go through the list). So it’s actually really hard to be wrongfully reset/banned without doing it multiple times.

  • pop

do we win any thing for giving a intel?

  • ServerDestroyeR

this is just fucking stupid .. Treyarch have fucked it up again like Blackops 1..

  • Dakota Wise

Nice to see them cracking down! I quoted your page on my blog ;) http://videogamehappenings.blogspot.com/

  • fridge13

WHY THE FUCK can we not have sexauly gratuitous stuff in our embelems this game is 18+ srsly FUCKING KIDS RUIN EVERYTHING WARGHGGHHGHG CAPS RAGE!

    • DB

Because the real adults don’t appreciate you kiddies polluting the game with juvenile porn emblems.

      • me

Yesthank you!!! I’m so tired of seeing that shit Everytime I play this game! What’s the point in having detailed nude pictures on an emblem anyways I mean damn grow up

  • GTFO

well they put the emblem in the game for a reason. it is to be used for a reason. so you cant blame them for that.. you’re gonna have to take that up with infinityward for even making that emblem.

  • Djncjndnvjknsfk

win a game and you get banned pretty much

  • A_ok_xd

wtf?! I’ve been playing all the weekend in nuketown 2025 and I leveled up to the 2nd prestige lvl 28, and now thery banned me for playing nuketown!! I didn’t boost or glich! why the hell did they bann me? please, if someone nows something reply this comment..

  • Elite squad

Are you allowed the blured emblems when you zoom into them

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/YLQHQE32M2LK6SVMTANX7TFM7A Studioxx

Activision & Treyarch need to start banning players who falsely accuse players of cheating if they can not prove, that they are cheating. Other than I think they where.

  • Countbabeula

I just got my PS3 account reset because someone couldn’t handle that I was beating them…I am extremely mad. I don’t remember who was in the party when I was online. I am extremely pissed off! X( I was also the only girl in the party at the time before my account was hacked on Black Ops 2..It was completely obvious.

  • Cnwilcox87

Lots of Master Prestige people out there, some legit but most have only played the game for 4-5 hours. REPORT them or just be sure to laugh out loud when you see them get 10 kills to 40 deaths. Master Prestige my arse!!

  • Uri_alejandro

So I have all these embles that I know fr a fact I didn’t unlock and I have acces to several calling cards that haven’t been unlocked? Why? It says I have used the respawn thing over two million times and I have probably used it 25. Answers please

  • infectedxlag

  • Ross

Lets catch boosters be for it gets crazy

  • Avius

I always report douchebags that have explicit emblems, because I hate their kind.
